A behind the scenes look at the characters of Life Is Just A Game.

Life is just a game, Tommy Delniros, Mike Pearce

Tommy Delniros (Mike Pearce)

“Sure, I used to have my own maverick way of doing things, but it got results.”

Tommy Delniros is a young former NYPD officer who longs for a life as the sort of tough NYC cop that existed in the movies of the late 1970s. Kicked off the police force for his inability to differentiate life in his fantasy world from reality, Delniros is desperate to work one more case and is enlisted to lead a private investigation.

Life is just a game, Captain Levine, Mitch Levine, cop, man at desk

Captain Levine (Mitch Levine)

“Tommy, your kind of policing doesn’t exist anymore. And ya know, I’m not sure it really ever did.”

Captain Levine had to release Tommy from duty for his unconventional techniques, but he still has a soft spot for him. Frequently the one to bail Tommy out of trouble, Levine sets him up with a private investigation job.

Life is just a game, Ear Grey, Johnny White, villain

Earl Grey (Johnny White)

“Does this Delniros actually pose a threat to us, or is he just snooping around?”

A young English aristocrat mixing and meddling with gangs across the city, Earl Grey spends most of his days holed up in his luxurious downtown penthouse apartment in a daze of nitrous oxide. Obsessed with watching movies, he is especially enamored with Freddy Krueger.

Life is just a game, Barbara Sotiropoulou, Hippolyte, Amazons, beautiful woman, swords, fighting, sexy, voluptuous

Barbara Sotiropoulou/Hippolyte (Tonia Sotiropoulou)

“I have my finger on the pulse of every radical feminist group in the five boroughs!”

Barbara Sotiropoulou is the leader of the radical feminist gang The Amazons. She was the star of the television show Amazons, which was cancelled after just a few episodes. Now an out-of work actress, she confusingly seems to have adopted her character’s name and persona in her real life.

Life is just a game, Sam Butterworth, Dekonnik, villain, shirtless, ping-pong

Dekonnik (Sam Butterworth)

“Nobody will miss that little twat. We’ll snuff the mook out.”

The dim-witted South African heavy is Earl Grey’s right-hand man, despite being constantly belittled by him. Dekonnik spends much of his time practicing karate and playing ping-pong at Earl’s penthouse. He also played a featured role in the television show Amazons with Hippolyte.

Life is just a game, April, Kiss Taylor, DJ Kiss, beautiful black woman

April (Kiss Taylor)

“Tommy, you always come to see me when you’re in trouble.”

April is a reporter for a daily New York newspaper. She and Tommy had a brief fling a few years back, but remain friendly. Although exasperated by him, she will do anything she can to help keep him out of trouble.

Life is just a game, O'Neil O'Hara, Joe Hastings, old man, drunk, rudy complexion

O'Neil O'Hara (Joe Hastings)

“It ain’t like it used to be. You wanna smoke a cigar, you gotta sit on the fuckin’ sidewalk like a bum…The city’s fuckin’ changed.”

O’Neil O’Hara is retired NYPD cop who worked the force back in the 70s & 80s. He is an informant for Tommy, who idolizes him as a symbol of the bygone era he fantasizes about. O’Hara can usually be found drinking and smoking cigars at his favorite Irish pub on the Lower East Side.

Life is just a game, Paul Downs, Kiss Gang, Gene Simmons, Coney Island, Starman

Leader of the Kiss Gang (Paul W. Downs)

“Delniros…Come out to pla-aay!”

He is the leader of The Kiss Boys, a bizarre gang of young men that dress up in outfits inspired by the rock band Kiss. They hang out in the desolate areas of Coney Island at dawn, acting tough and trying to stir up trouble.
